The Department of Social Welfare for the Cape Coast Metropolitan is a multi service office, helping many of the people
in the Cape Coast area. The Department operates in three core programmes: Community Care; Child Rights,
Protection and Promotion; and Justice Administration.
Community Care - Registration of NGOs, Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty,
Services and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities and Persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Child Rights Protection and Promotion - Registration of
Day Care Centres, Elimination of Children from the Worst Forms of Child Labour, Case Work which includes:
Child Maintenance, Child Custody, Family Reconciliation, Paternity and General Welfare of the Child.
